MANILA, Philippines — As speculations on President Duterte’s health mount after not being seen for days, presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella yesterday assured the public the 72-year-old Chief Executive is in good shape.
“The President is actually in excellent good health,” Abella said in a Palace briefing. “Except for the fact that whoever handles his daily activities decided to give our septuagenarian leader a brutal schedule.”
Abella added that the health of the President is in such tip-top shape that all he needs to do is have a photo op and everything will be alright.
“I think we need to allow him a few photo ops here and there. He was actually on top of the situation but just like any healthy individual, he also needs to have his photo taken,” he added.
When asked if it was accurate to describe Duterte’s status as being healthy as a horse, Abella agreed wholeheartedly.
“That is very very precise,” he answered in the affirmative.
“Especially if said horse just needs to deliver a short speech and have a few photos taken in order to prove that he is healthy.”
