MANILA, Philippines — A bill renaming the electronic toll collection systems for both the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to Presidential sister Kris Aquino and her son Bimby Aquino-Yap, Jr., has been passed at the committee-level at the House of Representatives.
The bill seeks to rename the existing E-Pass system for SLEX to the Electronic Bimby Aquino Collection System (E-BAC) and the existing Easytrip Service on NLEX to the Kris Aquino Easy ‘Tap’ & Go system.
“If favorably passed into law, it will constantly remind us of the noble deeds of Kris Aquino and her son Bimby, especially for the poor souls who have to endure their presence on TV and the big screen on a daily basis, and to inspire our people to emulate her example of self-centered service to herself while her exceptional skills in product endorsement united the Filipino people into buying products that they may or may not afford,” said the bill’s author, Nueva Ecija Rep. Magnolia Brosa Antotino.
With the newly renamed electronic toll collection payment systems, motorists can have cash less and queue-less transaction as they pass through the E-BAC and Kris Aquino Easy ‘Tap’ & Go dedicated lanes at all SLEX & NLEX toll plazas. Each lane has a unique sensor that reads the tag, automatically lifting the toll barrier, making the SLEX & NLEX experience hassle-free for the motorist.
“The possibilities of naming things in honor of the Aquinos are endless,” she added. “I’m currently drafting a bill that would also rename Malacañang to the ‘Noynoy Aquino Center For Presidents Who Can’t Lead Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.'”
