MANILA, Philippines — The Koalisyon ng mga Emosyonal na Beautician ng mga Beauty Salon sa Pilipinas (KEBBS-PH) has banned Stella Araneta, chairperson of Binibining Pilipinas, from entering any of their beauty parlors and establishments, after the Philippine’s representative, Mary Jean Lastimosa, failed to win the coveted crown or even make it to the top five of the just concluded Miss Universe pageant.
The group issued the memorandum after they concluded that what caused Lastimosa’s loss was due to the national costume, to which Araneta was responsible for.
“Subukan lang nyang magpaperm sa amin,” he added.
KEBBS-PH members are composed of beauticians, hair stylist and manicurists from the beauty industry and are all certified beauty pageant experts as well.
“Yung national costume natin, cake! Kailan ba tayo naging tanyag sa cake!?” said an obviously frustrated Yumi Sayaka, a manicurist from the group.
Despite there being many factors that may have caused Lastimosa the crown, beauty pageant experts all agree that it was Araneta, the gown, and its designer who were at fault.
But not everybody agrees with the experts.
“May next year pa naman diba?”
“Palibhasa kasi tayong mga Pinoy, may dugong ‘bitter’.“
