MANILA, Philippines — The management of Hyatt Regency Hotel announced today that it is willing to let beleaguered Department of Budget and Management (DBM) secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad use one of the conference rooms in its 5-star luxury establishment for free.
“We are proud to announce that the doors to our hotel would be always open for Mr. Abad,” said Hyatt’s Chief Promotional Officer Dessa De Lyca. “He is free to use any of our 10 multi-function rooms with varying capacities, all for free.”
According to Lyca, Abad can choose whether he prefers the Le Salon room, which can seat approximately 170 people, or The Ballroom, with its 300 seating capacity.
“May this humble offer allow him to reminisce the time when he and nine other colleagues resigned from their posts during the Arroyo administration,” she added. “Here is to hoping that the embattled secretary, who was diagnosed with stage 5 amnesia, God bless him, would come to his senses and repeat what he did last July 8, 2005.
And if the gratis use the function room was not enough, Hyatt Regency Hotel is also willing to throw in a free overnight stay at the Regency Suite King for Abad.
“It is a stylish 74-sq.-metre suite with modern decor and unique Filipino artwork, living and dining areas, oversized work desk with high-speed Internet and marble bath with tub and rain shower,” boasted Lyca. “He can enjoy breathtaking views of tropical gardens, plus exclusive amenities such as fresh fruits and Regency Club with breakfast and cocktails after resigning from office.”
And if ever Sec. Abad is feeling lonesome, Hyatt expressed its willingness to sweeten the deal.
“For a limited time only, we will make this special promo valid for other cabinet secretaries who thinks that ‘Hyatt 1’ does not sound too impressive at all,” she said.
“Mr. Abad is free to invite Mr. Purisima, Mr. Abaya, Mr. Petilla and other cabinet secretaries, if he wants.”
