MANILA, Philippines — Resident doctors inside the Senate building were perplexed after Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s nose mysteriously grew during the course of his 40 minute privilege speech to address the filing of the plunder case against him by the Sandiganbayan.
The senator did not show any signs of sickness or health problems when he took the podium to deliver his speech.
But during the course of his tirade, Estrada’s nose showed signs of it growing after he uttered the phrase, “Di po ako natatakot makulong.”
Doctor Gregorio Balay was the first to notice the elongation.
“At first it was minimal, around 2 inches only,” he said. “But as his speech progressed, the more his nose grew in length.”
The doctor also made a startling observation that the length at which Estrada’s nose grew depended on what he said.
“I noticed a startling 10 inch growth when he said, ‘Ako po ay walang kasalanan’ the very first time.”
By the second time that the senator said, “Wala po akong kasalanan. Walang basehan ang mga bintang na ipinaaako nila sa akin”, Balay was in awe as the tip of Estrada’s nose was already touching the television camera that was 20 feet in front of him.
“I was praying so hard that the honorable senator would quickly end his privilege speech, so as not to aggravate his condition,” said Balay.
But the doctor’s prayer was in vain the moment Estrada uttered and emphasized the words, “Hindi. Po. Ako. Magnanakaw”, to end his privilege speech.
At the time of this writing, Estrada’s nose was reportedly seen looped around the giant Ferris wheel near SM Mall of Asia, and making it’s way through Macapagal Boulevard on its way to CAVITEX.
