Mysterious Gullibility in the Philippines Also Coincides With Prophet Sandhu’s Prophecy

MANILA, Philippines — A mysterious case of gullibility that has struck the Philippines on a day that the country ironically celebrates the 28th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution, coincides with the prophecy of Jesus Ministries founder Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj.

The Indian prophet said in April 2008, that a mysterious illness will spread all over the country when a local news outlet will try to connect another one of his prophecies, one involving flesh-eating disease to two isolated cases in Pangasinan.

“The Lord says there is a place called Philippines. The Lord says it is in the leftmost part of your world. From there a grievous disease will spread all over the country. That will consume the brains of teenagers; all their intellect will begin to decay. It will pierce through the brains. The fear of this disease will spread all over the world, particularly on social media. The Lord said that this gullibility will definitely begin from the Philippines.”

Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj made the prophecy to advise Filipinos that these dangers will come true if residents won’t wise-up and stop believing what they see or hear on TV, radio and the internet.

Aside from the said rare disease, Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj also prophesied about the the annual death of an old actor, the coming-out of another alleged rape victim of Vhong Navarro, and the increasing price of commodities.

The shocking news about the susceptibility of Filipinos brought fear to non-gullible netizens right after “#PrayforPangasinan”  trended on Twitter.

“Instead of using this special holiday commemorating what your elders fought for during Martial Law, you cower in fear behind your laptops for a non-existent disease,” said one of people fighting for our freedom against the Cybercrime Law.

Yan ba ang handog ng Pilipino sa mundo?” asked another, quoting a lyrics from a song made famous during the Edsa Revolution. “Akala ko ba ‘katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan’, eh bakit parang ‘katangahan at kababawan’ ang nakikita ko?

Netizens are advised to steer clear away from people who are infected with this fast-spreading disease.

“These are the same people who prayed for Vhong,” said Prophet Sandhu.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA very well said!

  2. Just like in the days of Noah…People laugh at him..Then suddenly disaster struck them and they all die…So it will be the same with this people ( author of this article)., They have been blinded by satan… I hope its not too late for them…

    • How sure are you that the so-called “Great Flood” actually happened? How sure are you that Satan exists? If you’re basing all your answers from the bible, the mystical book used by Spaniards to appear good so they can actually hide their malicious intent of taking over the country – shame on you! If you are from this country – by merely accepting the bible you have proven to them how clueless most Filipinos can be. If you think the Great Flood is entertaining – then I bet Ondoy, Yolanda, and even the Pinatubo tragedy makes you yawn. Flood taking away dead bodies… it’s simply the greatest catastrophe ever told, killing every living thing on earth except for an arc of animals and a handful of people. And what about the verse in Genesis 9:24 says that Noah “knew what his youngest son had done to him;” what did Ham ever do to deserve curses and punishment when all he ever did – at least according to the bible – was ask his brothers to robe their father and to walk backwards? This is not humorous for the least… too much faith without asking questions is just plain stupid.

      • isama mo na din yung story ni jacob haha… pinatay ang mga mahal sa buhay tapos nung nagtampo eh si jacob pa ang masama

      • Too may to list here but ill try
        1) existence and preservation of israel from ancient times to present.
        2) re Establishment of Israel in the Middle East
        3) Fulfillment of Bible Prophecy from start to finish with only Revelations awating full fufilmment

No other book from then till now from any other religion or system of beliefs have been this accurate.
Working up to the present times.
there are other evidence but im going to stop here because i dont believe in spoon feeding people who choose to be blind.

    • Seems like you really believe this prophet… anyway, I’m not saying that he’s a false or true prophet… but please remember these verses (Matthew 24:11) “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” and (1 John 4:1) “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

    • Agree with Dennis all you want but TELL US THIS, how sure are you that you are not included among the people Jesus would deny on “Judgement Day”?

MATTHEW 7:21-23 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

However you say it, however you think about it – those people in the bible (that you cling on to so much) are actually good people – healers, exorcists, miracle-workers, prophets – and yet they were denied by Jesus in the end. How great were your contributions among your brethren, with the society, on earth, at most, for you to be so arrogantly sure that you’re going to be saved by your beliefs? What are the wills of your Father who is in heaven that you strictly uphold and actually perform in your life to proudly slap our face with the “truth” that only exists in your head? Do you actually believe you are greater than most people who actually did perfectly good deeds to their fellowmen so that Jesus will choose you over them?

  3. just because I dont believe this doesnt mean I dont believe in God. People, being sensible doesnt mean you are being faithless. we need faith and reason.

  4. does being critical a major criterion to rot in hell? I have faith in the Lord, but I have not much faith in fast spreading unproven claims in social media

  5. finally, a real satire! congratulations sowhatsnews! you’re getting good at it. definitely way better than your previous works!

  6. To Dennis and Letecia Montales Carbon:

If you cared to follow up, you’d find that there are new reports that suggest that the disease these patients have are not ‘mysterious’ as the segment would have you believe. Top dermatologist experts have already weighed in as well as the LGU’s health department.

    See this link:

    http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/580549/mysterious-flesh-eating-disease-in-pangasinan-a-hoax-health-exec

Also, you should be more offended by the type of media that prays upon the trusting public. Isn’t that the truly apprehensive act in all of this?

As further proof, these patients’ cases were already reported in the past:

    http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/580549/mysterious-flesh-eating-disease-in-pangasinan-a-hoax-health-exec

I don’t think people are laughing at the prophet, we’re just asking for people to exercise reason and sensibility before they share things on the internet and social media.

    • Faith requires no reason. Just believe even our carnal and finite mind cannot easily comprehend or understand for now. Later you will see the difference!!! Faith does not required the established knowledge of this world based on human study. For the term faith or definition is hoping something to be true to you. Meaning what is true to you is not necessarily true to me and vice versa. for all of us, our thinking and actions are founded of faith that what we believe is TRUE. We cannot please everybody. Let the false prophet be false and the true prophet be true. it is up to us. Thanks…

  8. We have seen biblical happenings when GOD created the world i will be cursing this proganda that whoever says this will have great turmoil in life in the name of our LORDJESUS CHRIST FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD AND HE SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO SAVE US. WHO WILL AGAINST ME IF GOD IS WITHIN ME.. GOD THE FATHER IN HEAVEN JUST KNOW OUR FATE WHO WE ARE TO QUESTION HIM ..FALSE PROPHET..BEWARE..

    • For God so loved the world – LOVE…. If your bible says God loves the world and by “this world” includes this “false prophet” – who are you to even dare to curse him? I suggest you wake up, get a perm, have some coffee and chitchat with the nearest parlorista for the latest trend in fashion.

  9. Would’ve seemed more legitimate if the lead didn’t have the word “ironically” since that would’ve made the article look a lot more objective and whatnot.

Still, loved this satire. Nice touch with the image btw😉 Maybe you could’ve included images of fake (Or not fake) tweets as well?

  10. Jesus already paid for our sins 2000 years ago.

    Remember people: God is GOOD.

    Repent.
Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
    Read the bible.

You would not want to spend your eternity down there. While there’s still time, please, follow Jesus, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Eternal regret or eternal life? You choose.

    • First – there’s no harm done so there’s nothing to repent. Second – The bible has been read – and I suggest you should, too. If you have, then you’ll be enlightened that all there is in there are loads of stories made by authors who can’t explain everything around them, so they resort to magic, miracles, and mysteries to appeal to the gullible audience. As entertaining as it seems to you, my better suggestion is for you to read books that have happy endings because this bible, however positive your mindset is when you first read it – it will only end in fear and despair. You will end up fearing the end of your life every single day. And lastly – DOWN THERE? DOWN WHERE? Be good to yourself and treat your self with a book. Perhaps you’ll know about the crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core and their contents??? Who knows… but then again… it’s just me.

  11. Friends wakeup. . Don’t giv more importance 2 ur doubts n flesh. . Comon b on knees. . For God can inform dis, Der would b a reason. . Take it seriously. .do now wat u do wen someone u really lov s affected. .

  12. Yes! God is good, but remember…
    Psalm 7:11-12

11 God is a righteous judge,
a God who displays his wrath every day.
12 If he does not relent,
    he will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.

  13. Want to see proof of “Mysterious Gullibility” spreading through the Filipino netizens? Just read through comment sections of popular articles here at SWN.

  14. God also wants us to use our mental tools. After all, He desiged and made us. Hinay hinay lang mag react sa mga balita at sa pagshare ng maling info.

Loved this article. It just puts an exclamation point on how social media makes people too dependent on what’s shoved in front of their faces. Tingin ko lang the internet also makes the Philippines dumber rather than well-informed. To add, news media shouldnt be irresponsible with the information they share with the public.

    • Why will you worry what affects to others? Worry about your own ! Every one of us is a SINNER if you are not I will worship YOU! Pray that you will be forgiven ACCEPT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR!

    • Big NO.

Evolution made us what we are today.
We use our mental tools as a means of human species to survive. That’s part of our evolutionary success that’s why we are thriving organisms today.

  15. Why don’t u gather the facts. Revelation in the Bible. I think the prophecy is true for yolanda. Philippines wake up before it’s too late repent. Gather all the churches all the catholics and Protestants. For a prayer meetings and set up a 6:00pm prayers for the sake of all people and nations. And wars will come. Spartly island is just around the corner and whose in the neighborhood? China, japan Thailand united states…get the messages…all the heavenly signs are showing up. Wake up!!!!! Our riches is not here on earth it is in heaven….lord jesus pour your precious blood upon the philippines save the pope the priest especially the children in jesus name and forgive us for our sins. Amen.

    • You call the Bible fact? HAHAHAHA
      Anong natira mo?

You ARE the one who should wake up along with the millions of Filipinos who dwell over their everyday fantasies.

Nakakaawa at nakakatawa ka. You think everything you’re saying and you believe in has any historical and scientific basis.

    • You sound like a frigging cult member. You’re creepy as hell. Please live with the times and use logic to reason things around you.

  16. With all the “repent” and “turn back from your sins” comments I see around this joint, this is what comes into my mind.

IF ANYONE DOES NOT LOVE THE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, LET HIM BE ACCUSED O LORD COME! AMEN!

  17. And that’s pretty much, what makes up of the Philippines now – we are getting overran by a deadly epidemic called, “idiocy”. And with the help of internet, they are spreading the disease in an alarming scale, perpetuating idiotic thinking. No wonder this country is poor, abused, and corrupt. We let idiocy take over us. Just look at the state of our government and you can easily view the situation.

  18. We can still prevent this if we will help each other. We actully destroyed what jesus gave us,we make pollution, even air or land even water. If we will be cleaning all the places in the philippines. We can prevent it. I know we can’t do this without helping! Thas why we can make a program about cleaning even in your own place! In your house or make a program about cleaning. Another important thing always pray. Godbless you all!

  19. people’s brains are missing. Never knew there are Republicans in the Philippines. Now that is a mystery. lol
