MANILA, Philippines — After being allowed by the Supreme Court to be held under hospital arrest due to her condition, Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s legal team is now asking the court to allow their client to be placed under house arrest because of her homesickness after being deemed fit to leave St. Luke’s Medical Center in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
The Southern Police District last week has prepared a room in its camp in Fort Bonifacio should the court order Arroyo to be held there. The Arroyo camp said that holding the former president there would not cure her of her homesickness. Only in her own abode can she sate her longing for the company of her family.
Doctor’s of the Arroyo would be summoned for inquiry to help explain the status of her health as well as her claim of being homesick. Tests are also being prepared that are to be conducted on CGMA to make sure that she is telling the truth.
A psychologist who wishes to be unnamed, suggested a simple questionnaire composed of a single question only that would determine if she is indeed missing home.
“Ask her if she wants to go to Singapore,” said the psychologist. “If she answered YES without blinking an eye, that means she lying.”
We’ll have more on this as the news develop. Stay tuned.
