So, What’s News? is a satirical & fictional news website. Our aim is to inject humor into everyday news to provide respite to readers who have grown weary with mainstream news organization’s partisan, biased and depressing way of presenting the news.
“So, What’s News’ news are news that won’t make you depressed to read the news”
So, What’s News? was started and founded on September 11, 2011 as an outlet for the author’s “humor”, “opinion” and “creativity” on different topics surrounding our everyday lives. Please note that the three words mentioned above are in quotation marks, so as to imply that it is up to the public to judge the quality and scope of the content on this website.
News on this website should not be taken seriously and to be taken with a grain of salt. We are here to provide laughter to the public as an escape to our depressing world.
“A laugh a day, keeps the white hairs away.”

Apparently, most people, at least in my facebook feed, do not dig mock news. :L They’ve expressed rage against he anti-angry birds bill. Anyway, I’ve tried doing what you’re doing, but I can’t seem to update regularly. I’d like to share articles from the carcosite news network:

Wooot! I come in peace
I don’t know how long I’ll be able to update regularly as well, but as long as ideas are coming (news being the source helps, it never runs out), I’m just gonna type till my fingers sore.
Nice blog you got there as well. I hope the public will be open to mock news, because news as it is, is depressing in tone and delivery, especially on TV. Read some of your articles, and saw that you used aliases. Was pondering whether to use real or fictional names, so decided to use both.

Hi, while i find your website amusing, i think that the way you present the articles is very risky, as they could easily be passed of as stories from a legitimate news website. Add to that, the medium you are using and a public crazy for sensationalist stories, the possibility of being taken seriously is very high (which could cause undue alarm and not to mention big trouble for you). Having said that, I suggest adding a disclaimer at the homepage, or if possible at the start of every article, saying that the materials presented are meant to be satirical and fictional. Hope you consider this, thanks!

true. hope you consider this suggestion. try putting a disclaimer at the end of the article so as to avoid confusion. including names of current government officials or public personalities add to the realism/ credibility of your satirical news which actually makes it funnier. however, this can cause confusion as people might actually believe that these are real news/information. there is freedom of speech but let’s not abuse it. just my two cents.
btw, funny stuff. almost believed the anti angry birds bill.

Thank you damnfine, hope you had a few laughs while you were here.
As for the disclaimer, there is already one at the bottom of each page (you might’ve missed it beacuse of the comments) and another one on the “So, what is So What’s News? ?” page at the top of each page.
God speed!

putting a disclaimer at the end of every page beats the purpose of writing satire. it doesn’t take a genius to know that the articles here are satirical. I was already laughing as soon as I saw the PETA pictures. Kudos!

like The Onion, right? to this day, many clueless readers think news there are real. i’m on the fence about that disclaimer at the end suggestion… true, many people will get offended and some very gullible readers will believe everything you write. but i also agree that it will kind of ruin the satire angle.
great work, though, funny stuff. takes a lot of talent to write satire.

Very nice site. I’ve been doing some satirical articles since 2009 but my blog did not become as popular like yours and so my blog died a miserable death. It is nice to hear that the gods of irony favors you. Good work.

Quoting Time magazine is inappropriate. I hope we can come to terms with what we are – majority rules. The majority have spoken. Unless you can come with a better way of ruling, then we should accept the majority decision.

Binay won in the same way as Pnoy did (and so many others before them) – popularity of their parents, bothers, relatives, etc. Erap and showbiz personalities won because people thought they’d behave like the characters they played. We are all guilty of associating one with another at one time or another. Who are we to say that those who voted for Binay are less enlightened than those who voted for Pnoy (when we ALREADY knew that he never performed at the Senate). I hope we come to terms with what we are. Majority rules – no matter how naive the majority is. Until we can come up with another way of determining who our leaders would be, then we should quit whining and just accept the majority decision.
